Join us next September 20th-22nd in Namur for the “Passion for Europe” workshop: “European Democracy in the light of the War in Ukraine: something worth fighting for”.

Two days in Namur to listen to and exchange with institutional, academic and spiritual experts on Europe; to share group discussions, meals and drinks with people of various generations from more than 25 different European countries; to exchange ideas and experiment a rich, caring and joyful European multi-cultural experience

The European Common good, in the sense of its founding fathers, and their successors like Jacques Delors,
should be the final goal of all Europe policies, by ensuring peace and prosperity and offering a free and
sustainable environment to each community and person.

Today, with war on its borders, a weakened economy compared to US and China, and with increased
nationalism, how can Europe still be a model of democracy and prosperity? Is growing national and private
individualism a threat for cross-border communities and common projects?

How can politicians, academics and citizens of goodwill fight for European democracy, and can churches play
a specific role?

The program will offer: keynote speeches and panels, multi-cultural group discussions, social networking times, as well as a piano concert, the offer of prayer times, walks in the beautiful garden, meals and drinks to continue discussions…

Among the confirmed speakers:
Antoine Arjakovsky, co-director of the Politics and Religions research department at the French Collège des Bernardins, Daniel Calleja, Head of the EU Commission Legal Service, Karl-Heinz Lambertz, former president of the European Committee of Regions, Sebastien Maillard, of the Jacques Delors Institute, Andreas Faludi, of the Delft University of Technology,  Josianne Gauthier, Secretary General of CIDSE and many others.
